ST HILDA'S COLLEGE : 8-hour Stipendiary Lecturership in French

St Hilda's College invites applications for a two year, fixed-term eight-hour Stipendiary Lecturership in French, from 1 October 2011 until 30 September 2013.  The teaching required will include literature tutorials and translation classes (French to English) for all year groups. 

In addition the appointee will be expected to set and mark college examinations, to participate in the routine administration of the undergraduate degree in Medieval and Modern Languages (MML), to take part in undergraduate admissions, and to assist with pastoral care of undergraduates reading the subject by serving as personal tutor. She or he will also act as college advisor to graduate students in MML and related fields at St Hilda's. 

Candidates should have a strong educational background, with a good first degree, and should be working for, or have already obtained, a doctorate in French specialising in the Early Modern period (1530-1800).  Some teaching experience is essential.  The salary for the post is £16,247 - £18,285, depending on qualifications and experience, and membership of the USS pension scheme is offered.
