Transmediality
Call for papers for the 2001 ACLA conference, University of Puerto Rico,
April 11-14 2001
Papers solicited on phenomena of transposition between media involving artistic texts. While the seminar will be open to the classical types of transmediations, such as novel to film and image to language (or vice-versa), papers on new or more problematic types of transmediation will be particularly welcome: for instance, exchanges between music and text, adaptations of print texts into hypertext, or transpositions of novels into computer games and vice versa. Also welcome will be papers that address the problem of transmediality from a theoretical perspective.
