Six month fixed term appointment, £18,731 - £25,213 per annum pro rata

The successful applicant will be expected to work for six months under the direction of Dr J.L. Clarke on a project entitled 'Towards a realisation of the Salford Protocol: Early Modern French theatre imagery online', funded by the British Academy. The main task will be to help determine the organisational and technical feasibility of a consortium-based operation aimed at providing an online image databank of graphic materials of interest to scholars and teachers of Early Modern French theatre. Tasks will include the location, processing and cataloguing of a representative set of such images in collaboration with the project management team. The research will be based in Durham, although it will be necessary to make some field trips to regional centres in the UK.

The appointment will start as soon as possible, and will be at point 6 on scale RA1A.
Applicants should have a good knowledge of Early Modern French theatre history. A strong interest in preparing materials for delivery online is essential; candidates should also have the ability to speak French. Preference is likely to be given to candidates who already have relevant publications.
