(permanent teaching and research post - equivalent to an Assistant Professor rank in the US)

Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in French Cultural Studies, which is tenable from 1 September 2019.

You must have a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant field and demonstrable teaching experience in French cultural studies at university level. Your research may focus on any aspect or period of French culture, but the position is not open to those working in the field of linguistics. Preference may be given to candidates who work on twentieth-century or contemporary French culture. Only applicants with high quality publications will be considered. You must be fluent in English and French. Some involvement in the language teaching activities of the department will be non-negotiable. The following would be highly desirable: record of grant capture and PhD supervision, experience of assessing translation at undergraduate level, and experience developing online teaching materials. You must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to empathise with students.
