La correspondance scientifique n’étant pas en principe destinée à la publication, elle peut en général s’avérer moins accessible que les travaux ayant pour but la diffusion (la publication) des idées (ouvrages, articles, mémoires académiques, thèses universitaires, communications, etc.).
La correspondance scientifique présente pourtant un intérêt particulier : en tant que canal privilégié de circulation du savoir et des informations académiques de toute sorte, elle favorise la discussion théorique dans un cadre décontracté et fonctionne ainsi comme un espace de réflexion partagé, propice à la clarification et à la cristallisation (à la construction) des idées.
L’étude des correspondances scientifiques facilite ainsi l’accès, très souvent, à de véritables laboratoires des idées. Mais son intérêt ne se réduit pas à cet aspect. Source privilégiée de la recherche historiographique, les correspondances scientifiques nous informent également sur la base culturelle propre à la période historique où elles s’insèrent (où elles ont été produites), sur les rapports entre les représentants des différentes communautés, sur les attitudes des correspondants à l’égard de leurs propres développements théoriques et/ou à l’égard des conceptions de ses contemporains, ses prédécesseurs, ses éventuels successeurs (disciples), etc.
La correspondance scientifique offre ainsi un champ d’étude vaste et diversifié (génétique textuelle, historiographie, sociologie des sciences, etc.) et une ouverture vers plusieurs lignes de recherche. L’ensemble mérite un travail attentif d’analyse qui, au fur et à mesure des découvertes, permettra de dessiner un panorama de la vie intellectuelle des linguistes.
Nous appelons à contribuer les chercheurs, historiens, philologues et/ou généticiens, s’intéressant à l’étude des archives et manuscrits de linguistes.
Le recueil d’articles que constituera le livre a pour objectif premier de permettre aux chercheurs s’intéressant à la genèse des idées linguistiques, à leur histoire, à leur circulation par-delà les frontières des disciplines et des écoles, de disposer d’un état de la recherche en ce domaine et de pouvoir s’orienter dans les corpora présentés dans le recueil. Les fonds seront présentés de manière à pouvoir s’interroger sur le processus d’élaboration de la pensée scientifique chez des linguistes de toutes nationalités. L’ambition de cet ouvrage est de susciter de nouvelles recherches et d’attirer l'attention sur des correspondances méconnues – ou mal connues – ainsi que sur le processus d’élaboration proprement dite de la science linguistique et de ses concepts.
Le recueil sera constitué d’articles entre 45 000 signes maximum et 30 000 signes minimum. Les articles seront rédigés en français.
Modalités de participation
Les propositions de communication feront 500 mots maximum, précisant le sujet et la conclusion de l’article proposé, accompagnées d’une brève notice biographique de l’auteur. Elles seront adressées avant le 15 juin 2015 à Estanislao Sofia (estanislao.sofia@gmail.com) et à Valentina Chepiga (valentina.chepiga@gmail.com).
Les articles sont attendus pour le 15 octobre 2015.
La publication des articles est prévue pour la fin 2015.

The scientific correspondence, a priori, is not intended for publication. For that reason, it is less accessible, generally, than more achieved works aiming to the diffusion and publication of ideas (books, articles, academic papers, PhD thesis, conferences, etc.).
Yet the scientific correspondence is of particular interest: as a privileged channel of communication of knowledge and academic information of any kind, it enables the theoretical discussion in a casual, informal context, and thus functions as a shared space for reflection, proper for clarification and crystallization (construction) of ideas.
The study of scientific correspondence simplifies the access to “genetic laboratories” of ideas. But the interest of the study of this kind of corpus is not limited to this aspect. Ideal source of historiographical research, the correspondence of linguistic scholars is also likely to inform about the common cultural base inherent to the historical period in which it is produced, about the kind of relationship between members of different communities, about the attitudes of letter-writers with regard to their own theoretical developments and / or in respect of conceptions of their contemporaries, their predecessors, their successors (disciples), etc.
The correspondence of scholars offers a vast and diverse field of study (genetic criticism, historiography, sociology of science, etc.) and an opening hub to several research lines. As the first place of scientific exchange, it is multidimensional. We can find several levels of reflexion here: the elaboration of notions, the circulation of ideas, mutual consultations, theoretical exchanges. All this deserves a scrupulous and attentive work of analysis of genesis and metagenesis which will allow to draw a panorama of the intellectual life of linguists.
We call for papers of scholars dealing with and/or interested in archives and manuscripts of linguists: linguists, historians, philologists and genetic criticists are expressly welcome.
The main purpose of this collecting is to allow researchers interested in international history of linguistic ideas and analysis of their genesis to focus their attention on the corpora on which they report in the book. Our purpose is to debrief the elaboration process of scientific thought of linguists of all nationalities and to stimulate new research and draw attention to unknown archives - or scarcely known - as well as to the elaboration process of linguistic science itself.
The collecting will be organized in articles between 30 000 and 45 000 characters (maximum). The articles will be written in French.
Proposals for papers will be composed of 500 words or less, indicating the aim and the conclusion of the proposed article and an author’s short biographical note. They will be sent by the 15st of June 2015 to:
