Assistant Professor with expertise in linguistics and pedagogy for a tenure-track appointment (Colby College)

Colby College is seeking an Assistant Professor with expertise in linguistics and pedagogy for a tenure-track appointment to begin September 1, 2012. PhD preferred; ABD considered. Native or near-native abilities in French and English, an excellent teaching record, and promising scholarship in the specialist field expected. Secondary expertise that complements existing areas of specialization in the department highly desirable (e.g., art, history, political science, theater, or other interdisciplinary studies). The successful candidate will be part of an energetic department committed to providing the best possible instruction to students. We are particularly interested in individuals with experience teaching French language at all levels, including courses in business French, phonetics, stylistics, and translation.
