The pivotal idea of this anthological volume involves the transition from the act of reading to that of rewriting. If Part One proposes readings about works in their initial forms, Part Two rather provides readings about rereading. But both Parts represent endeavors at rewriting with recourse to approaches that range from the ordinarily familiar to the most unconventional, as both hypothesize that any deconstructive reading engenders a potential act of rewriting in an eternal intertextual cycle of perpetual rereading and rewriting.
