Du testament d'Edmond de Goncourt au prix; les dix couverts; la constitution de l'Académie; lauréats oublié(e)s; lauréats féminins; le Goncourt et la francophonie; les traductions; le prix et le marché littéraire; rentes et ventes; les enjeux politiques et historiques du prix; prix refusés et non-décernés; pour une sociologie du prix; le Goncourt des lycéens; les bourses Goncourt (poésie, nouvelles, récit d'histoire, biographie, premier roman); Goncourt, Médici, Fémina, Renaudot; Galligrasseuil; scandales et polémiques; liens 19e/20e siècles; le prix Goncourt et la périodisation; le Goncourt et les médias; les suites du prix; l'avenir du Goncourt.

To mark the centenary of the Prix Goncourt in 2003, the University of Glasgow, Crichton Campus (Dumfries, Scotland) invites proposals for papers for an interdisciplinary conference on the theme of the 'Prix Goncourt 1903-2003', to be held 15-16 March 2003. Possible themes might include:
From Edmond de Goncourt's will to the prize; the jury; the constitution of the Académie Goncourt; forgotten winners; female winners; the prize and the francophone world; translations; the literary marketplace; a sociology of the prize; sales versus stipends; the Goncourt des lycéens; the Goncourt bourses; Goncourt, Fémina, Renaudot, Médici; Galligrasseuil; scandals and polemics; the politics of prizegiving; links between 19th and 20th centuries; periodisation and the Prix Goncourt; the prize and the media; coping with the prize; the future of the prize.
Contributions are, of course, welcome on topics not covered in this list. Please send proposals of around 250 words, in either English or French, to the conference organiser, Dr. K.
