This is a call for papers for the annual American Comparative Literature Conference which will be held in Toronto, Canada, April 4 - 7, 2013. 

This seminar entitled "Reformulations of Blackness in 21st-century France" welcomes papers that engages with:

• Blacks and Blackness in France
• Blacks in the media, in politics and in popular culture
• Definition(s) and reality of a Black community in France
• African Diaspora in France and in Europe
• Black Womanhood
• Citizenship and Bodies

The proceedings of the conference will be published as en edited volume.
