Roots and Branches: Francophone Societies of Europe and the Americas
Call for Papers
As part of its research activities the Centre for Francophone Studies is holding its third international Francophone Conference on 6-8 September 2000 on the theme "Roots and Branches: Francophone Societies of Europe and the Americas."
We welcome offers of papers for this interdisciplinary conference on any of the following:
- La France d'outre mer: the nation as separation, the nation as a minority
- Establishing histories
- Constructing cultures
- Thinking the frontiers
- Intercultural strategies
- The politics of language
- Shaping landscapes, shaping geographies.
Proposals on other aspects relating to the conference theme will be considered.
Abstracts of 500 words in English or French (to be refereed), should be submitted by 30 October 2000. The conference proceedings will be published. Contributors whose projects are accepted will be informed in December 2000. Speakers will be expected to produce a hard copy of their paper for publication, together with a disk in Word for Windows, by 15 July 2001.
