CFP WISPS XXVI ANNUAL CONFERENCE
Women in Spanish and Portuguese Studies
12 & 13 November 2026
University College Dublin
WISPS invites proposals on all areas of Luso-Hispanic studies for its XXVI Annual Conference, to be held at University College Dublin. We welcome contributions from academics, independent researchers, and postgraduate students working on Spain, Latin America, and the Lusophone world. Conference languages are English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
We invite 200-word proposals for:
● Individual 20-minute papers
● Panels of three 20-minute papers
● Workshops and roundtables
Alongside traditional formats, the conference promotes innovative and creative forms of knowledge dissemination. We therefore welcome proposals for:
● Artist–researcher and postgraduate–researcher collaborations (two-voice dialogues)
● Performances (dance, song, or other forms of embodied performances)
● Video and/or audio presentations
● Collaborative workshops and roundtables
Please submit individual proposals via this Google form and panel proposals via this Google form
Deadline for submissions: 15 May
Postgraduate travel bursaries: Three postgraduate travel bursaries of up to £200 each will be available for members of WISPS. Bursary holders will not pay for conference registration fees. If you are a postgraduate student and want to apply for our travel bursaries, please send a CV, a detailed breakdown of anticipated costs and a short personal statement – indicating why you want to attend WISPS, how this conference will benefit your academic career, and if you receive funding from another funding body – together with your abstract to the conference organisers.
