L’Association Atelier André Breton
« L’Association Atelier André Breton a pour objet de promouvoir l’œuvre d’André Breton et en particulier de constituer une banque de données, sur tous supports, aux fins de permettre l’accès au plus grand nombre et notamment aux universitaires et aux chercheurs du fonds constitué par André Breton, d’organiser, le cas échéant, toutes manifestations et événements relatifs à l’objet principal. »
Conformément aux statuts précités, l’Association Atelier André Breton édite un site www.andrebreton.fr qui montre tous documents et objets ayant appartenu au fondateur du surréalisme : manuscrits, livres, photographies, peintures, dessins, gravures, sculptures, trouvailles, objets d’art populaire et extra-européens, notes de travail, revues. Elle participe au développement des sites Jacqueline Lamba https://jacqueline-lamba.fr/, Yves Elléouët https://yves-elleouet.fr/ et Mélusine-surréalisme https://www.melusine-surrealisme.fr/ ainsi qu’à plusieurs expositions d’œuvres surréalistes dans les galeries, musées et sur la Toile.
L’Aide à la publication
Les recherches sur André Breton et le surréalisme se développent sur un plan international. Néanmoins, il semble que les jeunes chercheurs aient parfois des difficultés à publier leurs travaux pour les faire connaître en dehors de leur groupe de recherches. En conséquence, l’Association Atelier André Breton propose aux jeunes docteurs en littérature, histoire de l’art, histoire et sciences politiques une aide à la publication d’une thèse de doctorat soutenue en français, en italien, en anglais, en espagnol ou en allemand dans l’année ou les deux années précédentes.
Une somme de 2 500 € sera versée à l’éditeur pour l’inciter à publier et à diffuser le plus largement possible les recherches du jeune chercheur.
Cette aide est proposée dès 2025 et le sera désormais chaque année.

Comment candidater ?
Les éléments constituant le dossier à envoyer en français, en italien, en anglais, en espagnol ou en allemand sont les suivants. Veuillez noter que seuls les dossiers complets seront examinés :
- une lettre de candidature avec coordonnées du candidat ;
- un CV et une liste des publications du candidat ;
- une lettre d’engagement de l’éditeur ;
- un RIB ou IBAN de l’éditeur ;
- un tirage imprimé du manuscrit ;
- un exemplaire numérique du manuscrit en fichier pdf ;
- les rapports de thèse.
Calendrier
Les dossiers sont attendus pour le 30 avril 2025 au plus tard.
Les réponses du conseil scientifique parviendront le lundi 16 juin 2025 par e-mail.
Restitution
L’éditeur sera invité à proposer un contrat en bonne et due forme à l’auteur. Il offrira, outre les dix exemplaires du livre publié contractuellement dus à l’auteur, dix exemplaires à l’Association Atelier André Breton.

The Association Atelier André Breton
“The aim of the Association Atelier André Breton is to promote the work of d’André Breton, and in particular to form an archive of data, in multiple media, so as to allow access to the greatest number of individuals, and especially to scholars and researchers of the collection assembled by Breton, and to organise, wherever appropriate, every type of outcome and event relating to its principal aim.”
In alignment with the above statutes, the Association Atelier André Breton edits the website www.andrebreton.fr that displays all of the documents and objects that had belonged to the founder of surrealism: manuscripts, books, photographs, paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, found objects, folk art and non-European art, working notes, and periodicals. It also contributes to the development of the websites for Jacqueline Lamba https://jacqueline-lamba.fr/, Yves Elléouët https://yves-elleouet.fr/ and Mélusine-surréalisme https://www.melusine-surrealisme.fr/ as well as in a number of exhibitions of surrealist works in galleries, museums and online.
The Grant
Research on André Breton and surrealism has grown at an international level. Nevertheless, it appears that young and early career researchers sometimes experience difficulties in publishing their research in order to disseminate it beyond their immediate research circles. In response, the Association Atelier André Breton proposes to support young PhD holders in the fields of literature, art history, history and political sciences in publishing a PhD thesis submitted within the previous two years in French, Italian, English, Spanish or German.
A total of 2 500 € will be awarded to the publisher in order to encourage the publication and widest possible distribution of a young researcher’s work.
This award will be offered from 2025 and renewed annually.

Application components
A dossier containing the following items should be submitted, in either French, Italian, English, Spanish or German. Please note that only complete applications can be considered:
- A letter of application including the applicant’s contact details;
- a CV and list of the applicant’s publications;
- a letter of confirmation from the publisher;
- the publisher’s bank details (IBAN);
- a printed copy of the manuscript;
- a digital copy of the manuscript in pdf format; - dissertation reports.
Timetable
The closing date for application dossiers is 30 April 2025.
The committee’s response will be sent by email on Monday 16 June 2025.
Requirements
The publisher will be invited to offer the author an appropriate formal contract. As well as the ten copies of the publication required for the author, the publisher will also supply ten copies to the Association Atelier André Breton.

“La Asociación Atelier André Breton tiene por objetivo la promoción de la obra de André Breton y en particular, la creación de una base de datos disponible en línea con el fin de facilitar el acceso del mayor número posible de personas, y en particular de universitarios e investigadores a la colección creada por André Breton, así como la organización, en su caso, de cualquier manifestación relacionada con el objetivo principal.”
En conformidad con los estatutos citados, la Asociación Atelier André Breton edita un sitio web www.andrebreton.fr que pone a disposición todos los documentos y objetos que pertenecieron al fundador del surrealismo: manuscritos, libros, fotografías, pinturas, dibujos, grabados, esculturas, hallazgos, objetos de arte popular y extraeuropeo, notas de trabajo, revistas. Participa al desarrollo de los sitios web Jacqueline Lamba https://jacqueline-lamba.fr/, Yves Elléouët https://yveselleouet.fr/ y Mélusine-surréalisme https://www.melusine-surrealisme.fr/ así como a varias exposiciones de arte surrealista en galerías, museos, y en las redes.
Ayuda a la publicación
Las investigaciones sobre André Breton y el surrealismo se desarrollan en un plano internacional. Sin embargo, a veces los jóvenes investigadores pueden tener dificultades para publicar sus trabajos y darlos a conocer fuera de sus grupos de investigación. Por consiguiente, la Asociación Atelier André Breton propone a los jóvenes doctores en literatura, historia del arte, historia y ciencias políticas, una ayuda a la publicación de una tesis de doctorado en francés, italiano, inglés, español o alemán defendida en el curso los dos últimos años.
Una cantidad de 2500 € será vertida al editor para ayudarlo a publicar y a difundir lo más ampliamente posible las investigaciones del joven investigador.
Esta beca se atribuye a partir de 2025, y será propuesta cada año.

"Die Association Atelier André Breton verschreibt sich der Förderung des Werks von André Breton und insbesondere dem Aufbau einer Datenbank, um möglichst vielen Menschen und insbesondere Akademiker:innen und Forscher:innen Zugang zu den Quellen und Schriften des Nachlasses von André Breton zu ermöglichen. Dazu gehört auch die Organisation von
Veranstaltungen und Events, die in Zusammenhang mit dem Zweck der Association Atelier André Breton stehen."
Ihrem satzungsgemäßen Auftrag folgend unterhält die Association Atelier André Breton eine
Webseite www.andrebreton.fr, die sämtliche Dokumente und Objekte aus dem Besitz des
Begründers des Surrealismus dokumentiert: Manuskripte, Bücher, Fotografien, Gemälde, Zeichnungen, Druckgrafik, Skulpturen, Fundstücke, Gegenstände der Volkskunst und außereuropäische Kunst, Arbeitsnotizen, Zeitschriften etc. Darüber hinaus ist die Association Atelier André Breton an der Konzeption der Webseiten Jacqueline Lamba https://jacquelinelamba.fr/, Yves Elléouët https://yves-elleouet.fr/ und Melusine-Surrealismus

Zuschuss
Trotz einer seit vielen Jahren gut etablierten und international verzweigten Forschungslandschaft stehen jungen Forscher:innen nicht ausreichend Mittel zur Verfügung, um ihre Dissertationen zu veröffentlichen und über ihre Forschungsgruppen hinaus bekannt zu machen. Daher bietet die Association Atelier André Breton frisch Promovierten in den Bereichen Literaturwissenschaften, Kunstgeschichte, Geschichte und Politikwissenschaft Unterstützung bei der Veröffentlichung einer Doktorarbeit an, deren Verteidigung in französischer, italienischer, englischer, spanischer oder deutscher Sprache nicht länger als ein oder höchsten zwei Jahre zurückliegt.
Die Association Atelier André Breton gewährt einen Zuschuss in Höhe von 2.500 €, der als Beihilfe für die Veröffentlichung und Verbreitung einer Qualifikationsschrift direkt an den Verlag ausbezahlt wird.
Die Druckkostenbeihilfe wird 2025 erstmals und von da an jährlich ausgeschrieben.

Le Sostegno
Le ricerche su André Breton e il surrealismo si sviluppano a livello internazionale. Ciò nonostante, sembra che i giovani ricercatori incontrino talvolta difficoltà nel pubblicare i loro studi e nel diffonderli al di fuori del proprio gruppo di ricerca. Per questo motivo, l’Associazione Atelier André Breton offre ai giovani dottori in letteratura, storia dell’arte, storia e scienze politiche, un sostegno alla pubblicazione di una tesi di dottorato discussa in francese, italiano, inglese, spagnolo o tedesco nell’anno in corso o nei due anni precedenti.
Un importo di 2.500 € sarà versato all’editore per incoraggiarlo a pubblicare e diffondere il più ampiamente possibile le ricerche del giovane studioso.
La borsa è offerta a partire dal 2025 e sarà assegnata ogni anno.
