Full Professorship for Romance Literatures (French and Italian) with a focus on older periods (Freiburg, Allemagne)

The Faculty of Philology of the University of Freiburg invites applications for a 

Full Professorship (W3) for Romance Literatures (French and Italian) with a focus on older periods 

(successor to Prof. Dr. Judith Frömmer)

in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures to be filled as soon as possible.

Applicants should represent French/Francophone as well as Italian literary and cultural studies in its breadth in research and teaching. A focus on older periods (Middle Ages/Renaissance) is required. A comparative perspective is desirable. The willingness to cooperate in interdisciplinary courses and joint research projects of the faculty is required.

Prerequisites for the employment of Professors are a university degree, an outstanding dissertation and an excellent publication record. Substantial achievements and experience in academic research and teaching, at the level of a Habilitation according to the German academic system, are expected.
