
The Department of Humanities at Michigan Technological University seeks to appoint a
Visiting Assistant Professor of French for a one-year appointment beginning August 15, 2016. Salary is dependent on terminal degree status.
Candidates should have a strong commitment to undergraduate instruction and
enthusiasm for teaching French language and culture. The successful candidate will teach a combination of courses at the beginning, transitional, and intermediate levels;
coordinate conversation and lab activities; and assist with program recruitment and
publicity. Candidates should have a demonstrated record of teaching excellence at the
university level, evidence of continuing professional development, and native or
near-native fluency in French. Candidates should have an M.A., Ph.D. or be ABD in
French.
The Humanities Department offers Minors and International Minors in French, German,
and Spanish, and a Minor in Diversity Studies. Our undergraduate programs include
Scientific and Technical Communication; Communication, Culture, and Media Studies;
English; and Liberal Arts. We offer an M.A. and Ph.D. in Rhetoric, Theory, and Culture.
