20 Vice-Chancellor's Fellowships and Advanced Fellowships, University of Sheffield, Royaume-Uni

Professor Keith Burnett, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sheffield, has created up to 20 Vice-Chancellor's Fellowship positions. These positions are open to the candidates with a track record of the highest calibre research and who have the potential to be research leaders of the future in any academic area. The key criterion for success in these
appointments is the personal capacity to make an outstanding contribution to the University, as a research-led academic.


Applications are welcomed from those who will bring new fields of research activity to the University as well as those who strengthen our existing portfolio. Fellows will have the potential to become academic leaders of the future who will engage and collaborate across disciplinary boundaries within and beyond the University. They will also have the ability to be inspirational to others and act as ambassadors for the University.

Summary:


Fellows will be appointed at one of two levels dependent upon experience
Appointments will be made on a fixed-term, full-time basis for a period of three years (Vice-Chancellor's Fellow) or five years (Vice-Chancellor's Advanced Fellow).


Upon completion of a Fellowship, and subject to satisfactory performance a permanent
appointment will be made to at least a Lecturer level (Vice-Chancellor's Fellow) and at least a Senior Lecturer (Vice-Chancellor's Advanced Fellow).


Establishing your research quickly will be a priority. To support you in achieving this, each
Fellow will receive the following range of exceptional benefits:
- Access to a mentoring scheme tailored to suit your individual needs.
- A one-off Research Support Grant of at least £10,000.
- A thorough development plan tailored to the individuals needs
- Appointment to an open-ended Lecturer/Senior Lecturer position at the end of the   Fellowship.
- Minimal/no teaching duties for the duration of the Fellowship.
- Reduced administrative duties for the duration of the Fellowship.
- Tailored relocation support.
- Accelerated salary progression.


The successful applicants will hold a good first degree in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience) and a PhD in a relevant discipline (or equivalent experience).
