Research Ireland Government of Ireland Postgraduate Scholarship & Postdoctoral Fellowship 2025

FRENCH AND FRANCOPHONE STUDIES in the School of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures (SMLLC) at Maynooth University (Ireland) invites Expressions of Interest from early-career researchers to apply for support through the 2025 Research Ireland Government of Ireland Postgraduate (PhD) and Postdoctoral Fellowship schemes.

About the Schemes:

Postgraduate Scholarship (PhD): Four years of funding covering fees (up to €5,750 per annum), a stipend (€25,000 per annum), and research expenses (€3,250 per annum).
Postdoctoral Fellowship: 1–2 years, salary €47,273 (Year 1) / €47,880 (Year 2), plus employer PRSI and up to €5,000 annually for research expenses.
 

Application Process:

Applicants should identify (a) prospective supervisor(s) from within French & Francophone Studies and submit one single document including:

A 300-word abstract of your proposed project
A 500-word personal statement (capabilities, motivation, interests, achievements)
A 300-word summary of previous achievements relevant to the project
