Fiat pax. Le désir de paix dans la littérature médiévale

Les vingt contributions de ce volume trilingue sont issues du colloque homonyme organisé du 16 au 18 juin 2022 à l’Université de Strasbourg par trois membres de l’Institut Thématique Interdisciplinaire LETHICA en collaboration avec trois collègues de Limoges, Orléans et Tübingen. Bien que les contributions concernent principalement les langues vernaculaires, le volume porte un titre latin, Fiat Pax. Ce dernier est emprunté à un psaume (121, 7) de la Vulgate. L’illustration ci-contre reproduit un manuscrit bilingue avec une traduction du vœu par Notker Teutonicus († 1022) : « frido geskehe », peut-être la première en langue vernaculaire.

The twenty articles in this trilingual volume are the result of the symposium of the same name organized from June 16 to 18, 2022 at the University of Strasbourg by three members of the Interdisciplinary Thematic Institute LETHICA in collaboration with three colleagues from Limoges, Orléans and Tübingen. Although the contributions are mostly about vernacular languages, the volume has a Latin title, Fiat Pax. This is borrowed from a psalm (121, 7) of the Vulgate. The illustration beside reproduces a bilingual manuscript with a translation of the vow by Notker Teutonicus († 1022): “frido geskehe”, perhaps the first in the vernacular.
