The Symposium and Festival of Music and Literature provides an invitation to explore the various aspects of Music and Literature and the intersemiotic relations among literary creation and musical composition. It proposes an investigation of this fusion that exists between a literary, theoretical, or musicological dialogue and the live musical concert. Participants are invited to submit proposals on the various aspects of Musical Analysis, History and Literature, as well as various Topics in Literature.
We invite proposals for 20-30 minute Vocal or instrumental recitals, 20 minute individual or panel presentations, or 40 minute recital-conferences in the following areas:
- Baroque in Music and Literature
- Classical style in Music and XVIIIth Century literature
- Romanticism and post romanticism in both Music and Literature
- Twentieth Century Musical and Literary Forms and Analysis
- Expressionism, Dodecaphonism in Music and Literature
- The interplay between the Avant-Gardes and Art in the XXth Century
- Instrumental music, narrative, poetry
- Vocal music, narrative and textuality in vocal music
- Instrumental music articulated with spoken poems and narrative works
