« Mobilité, déplacement et transfert des identités et des cultures dans les pays anglophones »
Les échanges et les interactions sont à la base de toutes les productions culturelles et collectives de nos sociétés. Depuis les concepts d'intertextualité développés par Julia Kristeva ou de transtextualité et d'architextualité étudiés par Gérard Genette, voire jusqu'aux processus de séparation et de différenciation culturelles mis en évidence par Fredrik Barth, mobilité, transferts et déplacements rythment la compréhension de notre progression sociale et de nos échanges personnels et culturels avec la figure de l'autre.
Ce colloque étudiera les différents processus de mobilité, de déplacement et de transferts dans les domaines artistiques, culturels, littéraires, linguistiques ou sociaux ayant eu lieu ou ayant actuellement lieu au sein des pays anglophones. Ces interactions peuvent parfois donner naissance à la construction d'un canon, d'une doxa ou d'une norme, à la mise en place d'une culture ou d'un courant de pensée dominant et d'une zone en marge ou marginalisée. L'adoption, la négociation ou le rejet ont souvent des conséquences sociales et idéologiques. La dimension ethnique, sociale ainsi que les circulations migratoires favorisant ces échanges sont bien sûr aussi à prendre en compte. Les questions liées au racisme, au rejet de la différence ou, au contraire, à l'appropriation des marqueurs identitaires forment en effet un aspect important de l'interaction culturelle et de la contribution de la différence à une culture ou à un mode de pensée dominants.
Les communications (d'une durée de 20 minutes) se feront en anglais ou en français (les deux langues de travail de ce colloque). Les propositions de communication (en anglais ou en français) d'une longueur de 300 mots sont à adresser avant le 15 janvier 2009 à :

“Mobility, movement and transference of cultures and identities in the English-speaking world”
Exchange and interaction lie at the heart of social and cultural activity. Ever since the Kristevan concept of intertextuality, Gerard Genette's notions of transtextuality and architextuality and the processes of separation and cultural differentiation identified by Fredrik Barth first gained intellectual currency, mobility, transference and movement have played a central role in understanding both social development and cultural and personal exchange with the other.
The conference will study the different forms of mobility, movement and transference in the fields of the arts, culture, literature, linguistics and society that have marked or which are currently impacting on English-speaking countries. Such interactions may lead to the construction of a canon, doxa or norm, to the establishment of particular cultures and dominant modes of thinking, whilst others conversely find themselves excluded, pushed to the margins of society. Papers may examine the societal and ideological repercussions of the selection, rejection and negotiation of cultures and identities. Ethnic and social dimensions, as well as various forms of migration which encourage exchange, may also be taken into consideration. Issues linked to racism, to the rejection of difference, or conversely to the appropriation of markers of identity, undoubtedly represent a significant aspect of cultural interaction and contribute to establishing the specificity of any given culture or dominant mode of thought.
Papers of around 20 minutes in length may be given in English or in French, the languages of the conference. Abstracts (in English or French) of around 300 words should be submitted by the 15th January to
