Girls in French &Francophone Literature & Film

The French LiteratureConference at the University of South Carolina invites papers treating theconstruction of girlhood in Literature and Film.

Possible topics might include,but are not limited to:

Literary and CinematicRepresentations of Girls; Literature for Girls; Girls and Education;Socialization of Girls; Coming of Age; Body Image; Identity; Sexuality; Race;Ethnicity; Religion; Mothers and (young) Daughters; Girls and Feminism; Girls'Studies

Abstracts (500 words, plusbrief bibliography) and a one-page CV, inEnglish or in French, must be submitted (hard copy, fax or e-mailattachment) to the conference organizer by November 1, 2011. Conferencepapers should be held to a twenty-minute presentation time (no more than 10double-spaced pages). Selected papers will be published as volume XXXX of FrenchLiterature Series (Rodopi). Participants who would like for their papers tobe considered for publication in the volume are encouraged to expand theirpresentations to no more than 15 typed double-spaced pages, to be submitted byAugust 1, 2012.
