Call for Papers: Genius and Posterity
SDN invites postgraduate students working in any area of nineteenth-century French studies to submit proposals for 15 minute papers addressing the theme of ‘genius and posterity'.
Possible topics for discussion may include (but are not limited to):
- The Romantic artist
- Anticipating posterity
- Provincial perspectives
- The City as creative melting-pot
- Inspiration, folly and patience
- Political figures and ideologies
- Theories and forms for safeguarding posterity
- The generation game
- Shadows of the past
- Precocious / belated genius
- Literary domination
- Misrecognition
