Fiction and Religion

Publié le par Eloïse Lièvre

The editors of -Eighteenth-Century Fiction- invite submissions to a special number (July 2003) on "Fiction and Religion" in the eighteenth century.

Considerations of any aspect of the depiction, role, or significance of religion with regard to the fiction of the period are welcome: the Bible, psalms, hymns, and sermons; spiritual guides and autobiographies; the clergy; the Established Churches; Dissent; Methodism; Roman Catholicism and anti-Catholicism; Jews and anti-Semitism; Muslims; deists; millenariansim; atheists and free-thinkers; libertinism; religious hypocrisy; pornography; science and enlightenment; civil religion; state ceremonies and public performance.

The author's identity should not appear on the manuscript, as ECF follows a policy of blind evaluation.

MSS may be in English or in French.
