Conférence pour doctorants en études francophones les vendredi 16 et samedi 17 mai 2008 à Queen's University Belfast, avec le soutien de Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC)
Les frais de participation au colloque ainsi que le déjeuner sont couverts par le Comité organisateur. Une aide financière - dont le montant exact reste à établir - sera accordée à tous les intervenants pour les aider à couvrir les frais d'hébergement et de déplacement.
Nous envisageons la publication d'une sélection des interventions.
APPEL A CONTRIBUTIONS
Si la notion d'échange est souvent associée au commerce de biens matériels entre individus ou sociétés, elle couvre évidemment bien d'autres champs, symboliques, idéologiques, linguistiques ou philosophiques par exemple.
Nous vous invitons à envoyer vos propositions pour des communications de 20 minutes, en français ou en anglais, en prenant cette notion dans son acception la plus large. Les communications peuvent également s'inspirer de la liste thématique suivante, qui n'est bien sûr pas exhaustive :
- Théories de l'échange / échanges d'idées
- Substitution, remplacement
- Interactions entre le texte et l'image
- Échanges corporels
- Échanges verbaux et/ou linguistiques
- Donner et recevoir, le don et le contre-don
- Correspondance
- Traduction
- Échanges culturels
Les propositions de communication (d'environ 300 mots) doivent être envoyées par email (en attachement et au format Microsoft Word) au comité organisateur à l'adresse suivante : qubfrenchconference@gmail.com. Outre vos coordonnées (nom, adresse email, Université), veuillez également préciser toute requête audiovisuelle spécifique.

A Queen's University Belfast French Studies Postgraduate Conference, with the Support of the AHRC, to be held on
Friday 16th and Saturday 17th May 2008
The conference will be free of charge (ex. accommodation and transport) and a number of travel bursaries will be made available.
We envisage publishing a selection of papers in an edited volume after the conference.
CALL FOR PAPERS
Although the notion of exchange between individuals and societies is often associated with the transaction of material goods, it can equally apply to other interactive modes, be they of a symbolic, ideological, linguistic or philosophical nature. We invite proposals for 20 minute papers, in French or English, which interpret the conference theme as widely as possible. The following list, which is neither prescriptive nor exhaustive, may serve as
inspiration:
- Theories of exchange/exchange of ideas
- Substitutions, replacements
- Textual/Visual interactions
- Bodily exchange
- Verbal and/or linguistic exchanges
- Giving and receiving
- Exchange of correspondence
- Translation studies
- Cultural encounters
Abstract proposals (c. 300 words) should be forwarded to the conference organising committee at qubfrenchconference@gmail.com as a Microsoft Word attached document that includes your name, institution and email address.
You should also indicate on your proposal any audiovisual requirements you may have.
The deadline for all applications is 31st January 2008.
