Narratives of Self in the Visual Arts
The Leicester Life Writing Series, inaugurated in February 2007 with the first ever conference dedicated to the work of Doubrovsky, will continue in November 2007 with a symposium which will take narratives of the self in the visual arts as its theme.
The art forms under consideration will be cinema, photography and bande dessinée. The aim of the day is to gather together key practitioners in the field and to make advances in the theorisation of this area of increasing academic interest.

Susan Hayward (Exeter) will chair a round table which draw together and develop theoretical issues that have arisen over the course of the day.
