Cambridge French Graduate Conference to take place on 26th March 2002
N.B.: Appel à communications pour les étudiants de 3è cycle seulement
Exposure
From the book of Genesis to Freud, exposure is a process at once bodily, emotional, and epistemological. Exposure can entail the unveiling or uncovering of a body, a past, a psychic wound, a "reality", a "truth". It can render defenceless, unprotected, vulnerable, fragile. One can be exposed -or expose oneself- to external cultures, forces, ideas, identities.
This conference aims to explore exposure, a provocative notion which informs and problematises our concepts of knowledge, the body, truth, agency, vulnerability, sexuality.
Any period of French literature or culture.
Abstracts of 200 words by 15th of January to Kathryn Banks and Joe Harris at: frenchconference@hotmail.com
