Assistant Professor of French

Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2012. PhD in hand or near completion by time of appointment. We seek a colleague with aparticular specialization and research interests in any field of French literatureor culture after 1840, with the ability also to contribute broadly to aninterdisciplinary French Studies curriculum ranging from the Middle Ages to thepresent. Preference will be given to candidates who are eager to collaborate withother scholars working in one or more of the following areas: Africana Studies,Atlantic Studies, History, Science and Society, or Sociology. The successfulcandidate will have native or near-native fluency in French and display tangibleevidence of excellence in language instruction.
