PhD in hand or near completion by time of appointment. We seek a colleague with a particular specialization and research interests in any field of French literature or culture after 1840, with the ability also to contribute broadly to an interdisciplinary French Studies curriculum ranging from the Middle Ages to the present. The successful candidate will have native or near-native fluency in French and display tangible evidence of excellence in language instruction. The teaching load is two courses per semester, and Wesleyan offers a generous sabbatical policy.
