SPECIAL SESSION: THEORIZING MEDIEVAL RECEPTION
This session seeks to explore the benefits and limitations of contemporary theories of reception and popular culture to theorize the social, economic, and political implications/ramifications of medieval texts.

Abstracts should indicate the paper's central issues, thesis, methodology, and conclusion(s).
Deadline 15 September 2000, earlier submissions strongly encouraged.
To meet the Congress's guidelines, please include:
- your name
- institutional affiliation
- full contact information (complete mailing address, phone, e-mail, and fax numbers)
- title of paper
- confirmation of 20 minute reading time, and
- abstract cover sheet (available in the July International Congress on Medieval Studies Call for Papers).
Any abstracts not accepted for this session will be forwarded to the Program Committee at the Medieval Institute for possible inclusion in a General Session.
