Arizona State University is seeking applicqtions for a tenure-track position at the level of Assistant Professor.

Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in French, Comparative Literature or related field by August 15, 2005. Specialization in medieval literature or early modern literature with emphasis on the Middle Ages. Demonstrated ability to teach History of the French language and medieval literature. Evidence of teaching excellence at the university level. Evidence of active and focused research agenda. Native or near-native speaker of French.

Desired Qualifications:
Secondary specialization open.

Duties:
Teach History of the French language and medieval literature at the graduate level, and third- or fourth-year language and literature courses. Normal teaching load is 4 courses per year.
