Lecturer in French (Multiple Positions) at the University of Virginia

The Department of French seeks applications to fill non-tenure-track Lecturer positions during the 2015-16 academic year. A number of three-year and one-year positions will be available. Subject areas of particular need include, but are not limited to: French language (beginning to advanced levels), composition and conversation, survey of French literature and culture. Compensation may take the form of part-time salary with part-time benefits or full-time salary with full-time benefits, depending upon the number of courses taught.

Candidate must have prior teaching experience at the college level, a strong commitment to teaching, and near-native fluency in French; preference will be given to candidates that have experience with department methodologies, textbooks, and course offerings. Experience teaching Business French would also be an asset. Candidate must have a Master's degree in French (or in Second Language Acquisition, with teaching experience in French); preference will be given to candidates with a completed Ph.D. or ABD status.
