Calls for Seminar Papers for RMMLA 2001 in Vancouver, B.C.

Seminar Title: Dante : Representation and Identity

I am interested in papers and/or presentations (20 minutes) that address
any aspect of representation and identity in the texts of Dante.
Possible topics include: representation of the ancient and classical past
in the Commedia, Christian and pagan figures in the Commedia, the limits of
linguistic representation in Paradiso, poetic identity in the Commedia and
Vita Nuova, memory and the development of identity in Vita Nuova, traveling
in the Commedia, representation of political figures and history in the
Commedia, language and identity in De Vulgari Eloquentia, and the
relationship of Late Antiquity to Dante.

Graduate students are especially encouraged to submit abstracts.

Please submit abstracts of about 250 words via email (not as an attachment)
or post no later than March 1.
