CFP: "Queer Belonging in the Eighteenth Century" at the American Society for Eighteenth Century Studies, March 18-12 2010, Albuquerque, New Mexico.Panel organized by the Gay and Lesbian Caucus.
In her essay, "Queer Belongings: Kinship Theory and Queer Theory," Elizabeth Freeman asks, "Does kinship theory matter to queer theory?"  In her essay, Freeman answers that it does, but what material for kinship theorists can those of us working in the eighteenth century offer?  In what sense is the notion of the family challenged and how are other units of belonging articulated?  Papers on this topic are invited for ASECS 2010.
