Tenure-track faculty position available August 15, 2014.  

Responsibilities:  generalist (open specialty) capable of teaching a full range of courses in French language, literature, and culture and beginning and intermediate Arabic language and culture courses; scholarly commitment to teaching excellence and research; capacity and interest in developing an undergraduate program in Arabic; willingness to serve in departmental activities and advise students. 
Minimum qualifications:  ABD in French or appropriate related discipline; native or near-native fluency in French, Arabic, and English; evidence of successful college-level teaching; willingness to commit to active engagement in departmental activities, service initiatives, and scholarly pursuits. 
Preferred qualifications:  Ph.D. in French or appropriate related discipline; master’s in Arabic or appropriate related discipline; record of research and publication; evidence of effective use of instructional technology; interdisciplinary interests; involvement in appropriate professional organizations.
