Panel Title: "Writing/Righting History: Interventions, Revisions, and Alternative Visions"

Critical/theoretical discussions on the intersection of literature and history. How has literature "righted" -- intervened, revised, found alternatives to -- history? Which genre (the novel, poetry, drama) is best suited to the task? Is it better to write from within accepted canons or models, or to use popular forms? What are the advantages or disadvantages of using literature to these ends?
