

Part-time Teaching Resources Assistant (6 month contract)
The Department of French at the University of Sheffield is seeking a reliable and dynamic graduate to take on certain duties from academic staff working on a learning and teaching project.
The person appointed will be responsible for editing, updating and proof-reading the departmental brochure and handbooks; for editing and updating the departmental Web pages; for preparing and proof-reading language course materials; for organising the printing and distribution of handbooks and course materials; and for gathering course materials from printed, televisual and other sources for second- and final-year core modules.
This work will require a very good knowledge of French, close attention to detail, excellent organizational ability and the capacity to work effectively as part of a team. The appointee will liaise with the Print Unit and other units within the University and have input into the design and layout of printed and web-based materials.
Experience of standard word-processing software is essential; knowledge of HTML, Dreamweaver and Web CT packages will be an advantage.
The appointment will be half-time (2½ days per week) for six months. The salary will be £16,775 pro rata. The successful candidate will be expected to take up the appointment on or before 2 April 2001.
