Teaching activities
This position is necessary to consolidate the existing Bachelor en Cultures Européennes – English Studies. The jobholder will contribute to guaranteeing the continued appeal, quality, competitiveness and reputation of the study programme.
Research activities
In the domain of English Studies, located in the research unit IPSE, the jobholder will conduct research in the following areas:
· English Literature and Culture
· Fictional and Non-Fictional Genres
· History of Literature and Art
The candidate will also participate in interdisciplinary research projects in the IPSE research unit such as the key area ‘Multilingual and Intercultural Studies (MIS)’. Within this framework, he/she will be required to work on:
· Literature in Intercultural and Multilingual Contexts
· Media and Print Culture in Intercultural and Multilingual Contexts
In this context, knowledge of Luxembourgish Literature is considered a definite asset, and successful candidates will demonstrate familiarity and experience with the field of Luxembourgish Literature in its linguistic variety.
Profile
Qualifications
- PhD in literature;
- at least three years of PostDoc experience in the field of English literature.
Experience
- an excellent publication record in peer-reviewed journals and books;
- teaching experience on Bachelor and Master level;
- a strong commitment to interdisciplinarity;
- ability to work in a multilingual environment.
Required languages:
Being multilingual is a prerequisite for the working environment at the University of Luxembourg as well as for the research programme of this post. In addition to excellent competencies in English, the successful candidate will be fluent in either French or German.
