The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics at Syracuse University invites applications for a tenure-track position in French at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, with specialization in Francophone literatures and cultures of the African and/or Caribbean worlds. Interdisciplinary approaches are highly desirable. Candidates should have a willingness and ability to participate in interdepartmental collaboration in Pan African and/or Caribbean studies programs. Teaching responsibilities are two courses per semester at both the upper-division undergraduate and MA levels. Native or near-native fluency in French and English is required. Demonstrated strength in scholarly publication as well as high-caliber teaching is required.
The person hired must have Ph.D. in hand by August 2005. Salary is competitive.
