Applications are invited for the following posts:
- One-year temporary Lectureship in French
- One-semester (four-month) temporary Lectureship in French
both starting on September 1st, 2004.
Candidates should have a strong academic record in French. They should have completed or be near completing a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in French.
The successful candidates will contribute to the teaching, research and administrative work of the Department. Teaching duties will include language tuition and lecture courses in some of the following areas:
- Twentieth-century poetry, autobiography, Renaissance poetry, 19th century poetry, 17th and 18th-century literature and civilisation
Other areas of French literature and civilisation will also be considered. As teaching in the Department is through the medium of French, successful candidates will have a high degree of fluency in the language.
Salary : 35 000 per annum (for the one-year post); 13 000 for the one-semester post.
