Narrative Theories in Action: Intensive Programme in Narratology.

‘Narrative Theories in Action' is an Intensive Programme in Narratology (IPIN), designed to meet the needs of students interested in a brief but challenging educational experience during the summer. The school takes place in Aarhus, Denmark from the 8th-19rd of August 2011. Prior schools took place in 2009 and 2010, each with more than 35 students.

The summer school takes the teaching of narratives and narrative theory to the highest possible level by bringing together participants in the leading centers of narrative study in the world. The programme targets students, mainly masters and advanced bachelors, who are working with narratives for instance in written and oral texts (fiction or non-fiction), in film, in computer games, in organizations and in marketing. Among the international staff of teachers this year are James Phelan (Ohio), Marina Grishakova (EE), Maria Mäkelä (FI), and Kjetil Sandvik, Henrik Skov Nielsen and Per Krogh Hansen (DK).

The summer school is open to all students. It targets mainly BA- and MA-level, but PH.D.-students are encouraged to apply as well. Upon graduation from the course 10 (MA) or 15 (BA) ECTS points will be awarded.

Students from Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg, University of Tampere, University of Tartu, University of Oslo, University of Groningen, University of Copehangen and University of Southern Denmark are eligible for partly funding of travel and staying expenses.
