La culture en transit :
regard croisé Brésil-Canada sur l'expression culturelle des mobilités contemporaines
Dans le contexte de la mondialisation, les phénomènes de mobilité culturelle n'ont eu de cesse de s'intensifier. L'augmentation des flux migratoires de toutes sortes et le développement des technologies de télécommunication permettant des médiations à distance sont deux facteurs prépondérants d'une telle accélération, qu'ils vont de fait jusqu'à exacerber. De leur impact conjugué a émergé une véritable culture en transit, dont ce colloque se veut un lieu d'observation comparée. Trois principaux axes thématiques orienteront analyses et discussions : 1) l'expression culturelle des mobilités humaines ou migratoires, 2) les mobilités proprement médiatiques, 3) mobilités et expression artistique.

Les langues de travail du colloque seront le français et l'anglais, les propositions de communication pouvant être rédigées en portugais. Les projets de communication (250 mots environ) accompagnés d'une brève notice biobibliographique sont à envoyer, d'ici au 23 septembre 2005, à l'une des adresses suivantes :

Cultures in Transit:
Contemporary motions and their cultural expressions in Brazil and Canada
Sustained mobility has become a hallmark of culture under conditions of globalization. The much diversified inflows and outflows of increased human migrations but also the distance shrinking effect of a leaps and bounds telecommunication technology sector must be singled out as major, and at times overdetermining, factors. Conjointly, they shape a culture increasingly “on the move”. The comparative description and analysis of such cultural transits will be the focus of this conference. To explore and critically assess how varied experiences of being on the move receive contrasted cultural expressions in both Brazil and Canada, discussion papers will focus on one of the following three aspects: 1) Migratory experiences of human motion, 2) Media mobility, 3) Motion and æsthetic form.
