APPEL A COMMUNICATION

Colloque international, 5 - 6 avril 2012, U. Rennes 2 – France

- voir les aspects spécifiques que revêt l'enseignement de l'arabe aux non arabophones à travers des terrains différents ;

- d'identifier les problématiques qui recoupent les diverses expériences de cet enseignement ;

CALL FOR PAPERS

International Conference, 5 - 6 april 2012, U. Rennes 2 – France

Teaching Arabic to Non Arabic

Speakers : Diverse Experiences

1 - The purpose of the conference is to exchange experiences of the teaching of Arabic to non Arabic speakers in European institutions of higher education as well as those of the Arab world.

The impetus for the conference commes from the work of the Arabic Language & Culture group (ALC Group Pilot Experiment), wich was established as part of a Thematic Network Dissemination Project (TNP3-D) and was composed mainly of Arabic scholars from different higher education institutions in Europe. Previous meetings of this group (Rennes, 22-23 September 2006, Berlin 26-27 January 2007 and June 23, 2007; Brussels September 27, 2007) have, among other things, paved the way towards a harmonization of qualifications in higher education institutions and the means of achieving this. It has been very positive for the teaching of Arabic and for the dissemination of the Arabic language and culture in Europe to use a number of criteria that are common to other language areas.

2 - It is important to continue discussions and exchange experiences about the place of the Arabic language in Europe, its status and aspects of its teaching in order to :

- Identify specific aspects of teaching Arabic to non-Arabic speakers across different fields.
- Discover issues that are common to the various experiences of teaching the language.
- Shed light on the perspectives which are opened up through the training and acquisition of the language by non-Arabic speakers.

3- Papers should focus on two main areas :

- Historical and institutional teaching and training in Arabic.
Using a case by case analysis, in what ways has the teaching of Arabic to non-Arabic speakers found its place among the different methods of teaching foreign languages in various countries? The academic world apart, is there any non-academic teaching of this language? If so, what internal or external factors have contributed to bringing this about? What is the place of the teaching of Arabic in national language policies about so-called ‘minority' languages ?

Does the existing trainings meet the needs of applicants in terms of professional ?

- Linguistic and didactic perspectives where the educational choices that are made in training and on the basis of different teaching experiences will be analyzed. In particular, what are the responses and strategies adopted in these courses vis-à-vis the existence of the different registers of the language? How is the continuum between the Arabic dialect and Standard Arabic, which characterizes the Arabic linguistic situation , dealt with? Does the diglossia summarize the Arabic linguistic situation ?

The conference languages are English, French and Arabic.

Equipe de Recherche Interlangues : Mémoires, Identités, Territoires erimit - ea 4327

Axe : Langues Savoirs et Imaginaires dans le Monde Arabe lasima

فهي فرصة لإعطاء دفع جديد وأوسع لما تقوم به مجموعة Arabic Language & Culture (ALC Group Pilot experiment) التي تتألّف من مستعربين، أساتذة وباحثين، ينتمون إلى مختلف مؤسّسات التعليم العالي الأوروبي والتي تمَّ إنشاؤها بمبادرة من ) TNP3-D Thematic Network Project in the Area of Languages III التي تكوّن شبكة لمجموعة من المشاريع تهتمّ بمواضيع أساسية في مجال تدريس اللغات في أوروبا).
