International Study Abroad Call for Participation (Toulon, France)

The Office of International Affairs at the University of Toulon – France is currently seeking international partners from universities abroad interested in designing and implementing international Study Abroad environments for Summer or Spring Break courses on our campus, particularly for an French Studies or Hospitality Management courses.

For our Spring break program, we are interested in offering a course that would allow students to interact with their peers around the world by enrolling students from different universities in the same French or Hospitality Management studies course to facilitate internationalization of the campus and community and build cross-cultural perspectives and collaboration. Students would have the opportunity to interact with their counterparts abroad using collaborative teaching, collaborative learning activities and projects, writing assignments, and multimedia in order to complete a rigorous introduction course in French studies or Tourism (but not limited to these 2 topics). As part of the project, we are currently in the process of hosting an International (Wine)Tourism Class on campus. Since Toulon is located in the "Var" region, one of the largest "rosé" wine-producing areas in France and one of the most touristic regions in France, students from Toulon and from our Partner University will get to work on Social Media Management for major wine estates in the area (among other projects). There will also be outings on the French riviera organized specifically for our international students in the afternoon.

If a similar course is already offered at the partner university, the course could be co-taught by professors from both schools. If a French or similar Studies course is not yet offered at the partner university but there is interest in making the course available to students, then the course could be taught by the professor from the University of Toulon if needed. All courses offered through the program would be conducted in French or in English.

For our Summer program, we are interested in providing a course that would allow students from different universities to participate in language-related activities as well as cultural visits. More info about this Summer program can be found online at http://summercampus.univ-tln.fr. All programs can be entirely customized and you are welcome to write to summercampus@univ-tln.fr. Prices all inclusive (housing, teaching, meals, visits to Saint Tropez, Marseille and Porquerolles…) but they do not include plane tickets.
