

The Department of Modern Languages and Literature invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professorship in French and Francophone Studies with emphasis on Caribbean Studies and/or Literature of the Maghreb and/or Beur literature, beginning Fall 2009. Ph.D in French and Francophone Studies required. Applicants must have native or near-native proficiency in French and English and be prepared to teach a wide range of language, literature, and culture classes to undergraduates. The successful candidate must have a clear commitment to research and a demonstrated interest in interdisciplinary studies. Teaching load is two courses per semester.
