The department of French invites applications for a tenure-track position in Francophone Cultural Studies (North African, African or Caribbean), with a secondary specialization in 18th, 19th or 20th century French literature. Ability to teach language at all levels and evidence or strong promise of scholarship. We are seeking a versatile and dedicated teacher/scholar who will be a strong presence in the department and on campus. Connecticut College has a long-standing interdisciplinary tradition and the ideal colleague will have the opportunity to actively contribute to the work of Centers such as the “Center for the Comparative Study of Race and Ethnicity”, the “Center for International Studies and the Liberal Arts” and the “International Commons”. Native or near-native fluency in French. Ph.D required at the time of appointment.
