RESEARCH ASSISTANT
DEPARTMENT OF FRENCH/COMPARATIVE LITERATURE
A vacancy has arisen for a full-time Research Assistant to work with
Professor Michael Worton on two major projects. The first, larger one is
on Masculinity in the Post-1945 era in France, the UK and the USA. The
second project is on Contemporary French Women Writers. The post will be
available from 1 September 2000 to 31 August 2002. Your duties will
include the conducting of bibliographical searches and other library and
archive tasks, the reading and digesting of key publications, and some
editorial work. Candidates must have completed, or be very close to
completing, a PhD, either in French or Comparative Literature; an excellent
reading knowledge of French is essential.
Salary £18,915 per annum, plus £2,134 London Allowance per annum.
