To further develop the Francophone Studies component of our program
and to add diversity to the faculty, we have been given a special
opportunity to search for a scholar in one or two of the major areas
of Francophone Studies. The position will be tenure-track at the level
of Assistant Professor, to start Fall 2000. The ideal candidate should
be conversant in recent theoretical developments in his/her field(s)
of expertise and have interdisciplinary competence. Native or near-
native fluency in French and English is a prerequisite. This opening
will not be advertised in the Chronicle of Higher Education or in the
MLA Job Listings, and interviews will not be conducted at the MLA. We
plan to invite outstanding candidates directly to the University of
Iowa for interviews.
Members of underrepresented groups are especially encouraged to apply
for this position.
Candidates should send a letter of application, c.v., and complete
dossier (including three letters of recommendation). Review of
applications will begin immediately.
Sincerely,
