Assistant Professor - Applied Linguistics 24 months limited-term position (Canada)

The Department of French at Dalhousie University invites applications for a limited-term position (24-months limited term), at the Lecturer/Assistant Professor level in the area of Applied Linguistics, with subspecialisation or demonstrable interest in Computer-Assisted Language Learning / Multimedia, effective July 1, 2010. This position is subject to budgetary approval. Areas of competence should be a preferably strong research programme, teaching experience and background directly related to teaching responsibilities. The selected candidate will be joining a department of French with solid programs in linguistics, literature and cultural studies, and should thus have a clear and enthusiastic commitment to working in such a broad context. Duties would include teaching beginners, intermediate and advanced language classes, as well as developing 1^st year curriculum using CALL. The nature of the courses to be taught requires the candidate to be a native or near-native speaker of French. The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applicants must hold (or be about to receive) a Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics.
