School of Modern Languages, Queen's University Belfast

The University is seeking to appoint a full-time Lectureship in
French
Studies in the School of Modern Languages, tenable from 1 January
2000, or such other date as may be agreed. French Studies received a
„4‰ in the last RAE and we look for excellent publication potential
as well as proven teaching ability. The successful candidate will be
expected to play a full part in the teaching, research and
administrative activities in French Studies, as well as in the
School
of Modern Languages. Applicants must have an appropriate first
degree,
at least half of which should be in French. An equivalent
qualification from a French-speaking University would also be
acceptable. A PhD, at or near completion in a relevant area is also
essential. Applicants must have a proven ability to contribute at an
appropriate level to French Studies‚ RAE submission in 2001 and must
have native or near native fluency in French and English. Some
teaching experience at tertiary level is desirable.

Salary Scale: Lecturer A/B: £ 16,655 - £ 29,048 per annum (under
review). Appointments on the salary scale will be made according to
experience; the scale itself is non-negotiable.
