Annual Burn Conference: French Studies in Scotland and the North of England

The next annual Burn Conference will be held on the weekend of 12-14 November 2004. Papers of approximately 20 minutes in any area of French Studies are invited.


While the conference continues to provide a focus for colleagues working in Scotland and the north of England, in recent years it has begun to attract participants from the rest of the UK and beyond.


As in previous years, newly appointed colleagues and post-graduate students are particularly encouraged to offer papers, but we are also
counting on contributions from more senior and long-standing colleagues to make the Burn a stimulating forum for new ideas.


The conference takes place in a large country house near Edzell (Tayside). The atmosphere is informal and congenial and the Saturday afternoon is free for walks and talks.
