Please send abstracts for a ten-minute discussion of the state of the field of 19th century French studies today. Contributors may address research and/or teaching. What are the emerging trends in scholarship? How do contemporary attitudes towards France and attitudes towards the nineteenth century affect what we study and teach? What are the major challenges and opportunities facing scholars of nineteeth-century France? What are the emerging trends that will shape the field over the next quarter century?
